Angostura was omnipresent at Tales. They announced the release of their Amaro this coming fall, and I was fortunate enough to catch their rum tasting room and the Angostura Orange Bitters pool party. The tasting room was fantastic and besides being able to sample from the portfolio of Angostura’s products, there were nuts. Plates of nuts. Angostura Bitters glazed cocktail nuts. I had been sippin’ all day, so those cocktail nuts were consumed en masse by me. And they were kind enough to display the recipe.

I tweaked the recipe above to my liking and applied it to popcorn. I used the tiny bottles of bitters I scored at the Angostura Orange Bitters Pool Party to adorn some Angostura Bitters Glazed Popcorn gift bags.

And what occasion demands Angostura Bitters Glazed Popcorn gift bags? ANY occasion.

Angostura Bitters Glazed Popcorn

  • 4 C (approximately one bag) plain popcorn, popped
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 Tbsp Angostura® Aromatic Bitters

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F, and line a rimmed baking sheet with greased foil.
  2. Cook the butter, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and Angostura® Aromatic Bitters in a small saucepan over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. In a large bowl, coat the popcorn with the glaze and spread onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 8 minutes, stirring the popcorn halfway through.

Special thanks again to The F&B Department (who has all kinds of great recipes!) for allowing us to share. See you next year!
