We were looking in our collection of Angostura cookbooks for holiday inspiration and found some fun and simple ideas in The Secret of Good Taste: The Angostura Cook Book. Here’s a glimpse into what we found in the Appetizers chapter.
The very purpose for which Angostura was developed in the first place was to stimulate appetite. And no better seasoning and flavoring agent can be found to make appetizers really appetizing.
The subtle exotic flavor of Angostura makes even the most familiar appetizers new and exciting.
See below for the first page of the Appetizers chapter featuring a classic party appetizer dish: Deviled Eggs.
- 6 eggs, hard cooked
- 3 tsp mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp mustard
- 1/2 tsp Angostura® Aromatic Bitters
- Shell eggs, cut in halves and remove yolks.
- Add mayonnaise, salt, mustard and Angostura® Aromatic Bitters to yolks. Work mixture into a smooth paste; fill egg whites.
