We had so much fun with you all at Tales of the Cocktail. Angostura® Aromatic Bitters was honored to have our own tasting room with the opportunity to share some amazing cocktails with you!

Without further ado, we present to you the recipes for the cocktails from Angostura® aromatic bitters you tasted at the media luncheon and in the Angostura® Aromatic Bitters Tasting Room! If you were unable to join us in New Orleans here’s your chance to have your own Angostura cocktail party at home with all of these great recipes.

Impressive Party Cocktail

Mason Dixon Line Punch

1 1/2 oz 42BELOW Vodka

1/2 oz Elijah Craig 18-Year-Old Single Barrel Bourbon

1/4 oz Benedictine

1 oz Fresh Pressed Pineapple Juice

3/4 oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

1/4 oz Fresh Pressed Apple Juice

1/4 oz Brown Sugar oleo-saccharum

1/2 oz Rooibos & Horopito Tea

1/2 oz Angostura® aromatic bitters & Fig syrup

Smoked Wood Chips

Party starter: increase portions and serve in a punch bowl. Use a block of ice instead of smaller cubes to chill, yet not dilute, the punch. Float fresh orange and pineapple wheels in your punch bowl. During Tales of The Cocktail, we used smoked cherry wood chips near the punch barrels. The wood chips added the lovely aroma given off by the smoked wood – enhancing the cocktail experience!

Summer Sipping

Pina Colada

2 oz Angostura® Reserva Rum

1 3/4 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice

3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice

3 oz Coconut Cream

Top with 6 dashes of Angostura® aromatic bitters

Frozen delight: combine first 4 ingredients in a blender with ice and liquefy. Serve in your favorite tulip glass and top with 6 dashes of Angostura® aromatic bitters. Garnish with a pretty pineapple slice and a cherry.

Discerning Palate

Bittered Pineapple

2 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice

1/2 oz Green Chartreuse

3/4 oz Gin

1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice

Top with 1/4 oz Angostura® aromatic bitters

Smash it: Shake together first 4 ingredients in your favorite shaker. Place a large handful of ice in a towel and fold over. Smash with muddler to make crushed ice. Pour over crushed ice in a highball glass and top with Angostura® aromatic bitters.

A New Classic

Bourbon County Highball

2 oz Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon

3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

1/2 oz Simple Syrup

4 dashes Angostura® orange bitters

Simple stuff: Combine all ingredients in your favorite highball glass over ice and stir gently.

For the Jet-Setter

Bolivar Sour

3/4 oz Angostura® Reserva Rum

3/4 oz Angostura® aromatic bitters

1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1 oz Macadamia Orgeat Syrup

Egg White

Shake it hard: Combine all ingredients in your favorite shaker without ice and shake well. This will properly foam the egg white. Add ice to shaker and shake just a bit more, then pour over ice in a highball. Garnish with a lime wheel.

On the Rocks


2 oz Milagro Silver Tequila

1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1/2 oz Agave Nectar

1/2 oz Curacao

1 dash Angostura® aromatic bitters

1 dash Angostura® orange bitters

Best margarita: Combine ingredients in shaker over ice and shake well. Pour over ice and garnish with orange slice.

Non-Alocholic Refreshment

Lemon Lime & Bitters

5 oz Lemon-Lime Soda

3 dashes Angostura® aromatic bitters

Combine over ice and serve with a lime wheel & a straw.
